We begin our 3-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga by picking you up from your preferred airport, hotel, or riad. We’ll stop along the route to take in the scenery, going through the stunning landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains. We’ll also be traveling across Tizi N Tichka, a mountain pass. Its highest point might be 2260 meters, so fasten your seat belts. Our first stop will be at the south’s most dignified landmark, Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, which is barely 30 kilometers from Ouarzazate. The Kasbah is a typical 17th-century southern house that has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll proceed to Ouarzazate, Africa’s Hollywood, after getting to know this town. Then it’s on to Kalaat Mgouna, popularly known as the Rose City, which is known for its flowers and hosts an annual beauty pageant competition. Overnight in Dades Gorge.
On our second day of a 3-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga. After breakfast, we begin our day with a journey to the Todra Gorges, where many rock climbers come to enjoy their favorite sport. After a walk through the Todra Gorges, we continue our journey over the historic Bedouin trading routes that run parallel to the Middle Atlas, passing through a succession of walled communities with stunning pre-Saharian architecture. We travel to the magnificent Merzouga dunes, where dunes mark the beginning of the vast Sahara Desert. We park our car and ride a camel for an hour and a half into the desert to a Berber camp, where we watch the sunset and spend the night in a Berber tent beneath the stars. After supper, gather around the fire to enjoy the desert night while listening to traditional Berber live drum chanting.
Get up the next morning and have a delicious meal while watching the lovely sunrise. After that, drive to Marrakech by doing another way back by passing Alnif, Tazarine, Nkoub, and Agdez, and head to Ouarzazate and we’ll follow the Tizi n Tichka via the High Atlas Mountains.
