During your 6 days tour from Tangier, you will be able to see the spectacular sights of the south of the country, including the Atlas Mountains, gorges, valleys, historical Kasbahs, the blue city of Chefchaouen, oasis, and dunes. Discover Morocco’s most rural side and learn about the Berber people and their way of life. During this 6-day journey, you will sample and discover Merzouga’s most well-known desert settlements.
Our initial service is to convey you from Tangier to Chefchaouen as you arrive in the city. We’ll then make a pit stop at Tetouan. Then it’s on to Chefchaouen. In the Amazigh language, it means “horns.” It is situated between the two peaks. You will be able to experience the culinary art of this region and wander about its glittering lanes once you arrive, which is noted for its attractive palette of blue and white buildings. You’ll be staying in a hotel/riad in this town for the night, where you may relax and unwind.
The morning begins with the fresh wind of Chefchaouen; later, our journey will take us to the Volubilis ancient sites. The ruins are a remarkable illustration of the various civilizations that have made Morocco their home and are still visible in the country’s cultural heritage. This makes it a great location for a stroll amid its natural beauty and historical significance. The imperial city of Meknes, formerly home to the Moroccan sultanate Moulay Ismail, is our next stop; you will tour this ancient site and be enchanted by its beauty. Finally, we will arrive in the old city of Fes, Morocco’s cultural center and one of the world’s most intact medieval Islamic capitals. Overnight in Riad/Hotel.
We’ll devote a whole day to exploring Fez; we usually hire a local guide and follow him or her throughout the city in a systematic manner. The Attarine Fountain, Medresahs, Shahrij, Bouinania, Royal Palace Gate, Zoco, Fes El-Jedid, and the Qaraouine Mosque are just a few of the sights to see. We continue touring these attractions in the afternoon or have some free time to explore on our own. You stay in your lodging for the night.
We have a whole day to see the different landscapes that make the 6-day journey from Tangier so special and fascinating. Keep a look out for Barbary apes as you go through the cedar and pine woodlands. Pass through the Middle Atlas Mountains, the pre-desert landscape, and the deep gorges filled with a magnificent oasis of green palm trees before arriving at the Sahara Desert’s dunes for a camel ride. We sleep in a desert tent for the night.
Today we will leave the gorgeous dades that will take your breath away, by going via Rissani and stopping at Erfoud, a town noted for its petrified marbles, where you will see a workshop making marble fossils, the majority of people lured by the tourism trade live in more contemporary houses in a village on the opposite side of the river. Then we go to Dades via the Todra Gorge, which is a lovely spot to hike and explore on our own. Overnight stay in a Riad.
We’ll go to Ait Benhaddou, a “fortified kasbah” on the historic trade route between the Sahara and Marrakech. It is situated on a hill overlooking the Ouarzazate River and is home to several kasbahs, some of which are still inhabited. The site, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has been featured in several films, including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones. We carry on to Marrakech across the High Atlas after lunch. End of our 6 days tour from Tangier.
