Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen:

Our guide will pick you up from Tangier‘s airport and take you to Chefchaouen, a town that was built as a secretive, enigmatic base from which to fight the Portuguese on the north shore. Until the entrance of Spanish forces in 1920, Europeans were completely prohibited from visiting the area. Arrive in Chefchaouen in the afternoon and meet with the locals for the first time. The hotel is where you will be spending the night.

The second day of our 7-day travel from Tangier to Marrakech begins with a refreshing breeze in the city of Chefchaouen, followed by a visit to the Volubilis ancient sites. The ruins are a remarkable illustration of the various civilizations that have made Morocco their home and are still visible in the country’s cultural heritage. This makes it a great location for a stroll amid its natural beauty and historical significance. The imperial city of Meknes, formerly home to the Moroccan sultanate Moulay Ismail, is our next stop; you will tour this ancient site and be enchanted by its beauty. Today will be spent touring Fez, the kingdom’s most ancient city. You will feel as if you have traveled back in time to the eighth century as soon as you walk through the small medieval streets. Spices, mint tea, fresh fruit, Berber rugs, and a variety of other creative artifacts will fill your senses. We’ll make a pit stop at Qaraouine Mosque, the world’s first university. Fatima el Fihri established it in 859. We’ll also visit Meryem El Fihri’s exquisite Andalusian mosque, which was completed in 860. We will just look at the outside because non-muslims are not permitted to enter. Batha Palace, an art museum. We’ll eat dinner on a stunning high hill overlooking the city in the evening. We’ll spend the night at either a Riad or a Hotel.
