4-day tour Marrakech to Merzouga itinerary:

1st day : Arrival to Errachidia – Merzouga

On the first day of your 4-day Morocco desert tour, our journey begins with your arrival at Errachidia Airport. Upon your arrival, our team will be waiting to greet you and accompany you on the scenic drive southward to the captivating Merzouga Sahara desert. As the day comes to a close, indulge in a delicious dinner and settle in for an unforgettable overnight stay in Merzouga.

2nd day : Explore Merzouga region – Nomads – Khamlia the Gnaoua village – Merzouga lake – Erg Chebbi – palm grove

 Following a delicious breakfast, our adventure begins as we set out to discover the many treasures this area has to offer, ranging from majestic sand dunes to tranquil oases. Our journey commences in Merzouga, where we venture off-road to visit an ancient eyeliner mine, steeped in history and intrigue. Next, we have the unique opportunity to visit nomadic families in their traditional woven tents, gaining insight into their way of life as we share a refreshing cup of Berber tea.

Continuing our exploration, we make our way to the vibrant Khamlia village, home to the Gnaoua people whose music and dance performances captivate visitors from around the world. Originating from sub-Saharan countries such as Mali, Sudan, and Niger, the Gnaoua culture adds a rich tapestry to our desert experience.

After a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant, we meander through the serene palm groves, soaking in the tranquil ambiance of this verdant oasis. Our journey then takes us a few kilometers to the renowned Merzouga lake, where we may catch a glimpse of majestic flamingos in their natural habitat.

As the afternoon unfolds, we trade our vehicles for camels and embark on an unforgettable journey across the sandy desert. Pausing atop a towering dune, we marvel at the breathtaking spectacle of the sunset painting the horizon in vibrant hues. Our camel trek leads us to a luxurious desert camp, where we are serenaded by the rhythmic beats of Berber drums and dance beneath a canopy of stars.

3rd day : Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

After a hearty breakfast, we bid adieu to the desert as we set our sights on the historic town of Rissani, once a bustling capital of the Tafilalet region. Its legacy as a major trading hub still echoes through its vibrant souk, which comes to life with bustling activity, particularly on its market days – Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Our journey unfolds with a leisurely stroll through the colorful Rissani Souk, where the aromas of spices and the clamor of merchants create an enchanting atmosphere. From there, we venture onward to Erfoud, renowned for its workshops specializing in fossilized marble, where we delve into the ancient craft of fossilization and marvel at the intricate designs etched into stone.

As we traverse the scenic route through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, we are greeted by the towering cliffs of the Todra Gorges, a natural wonder carved by the meandering Todra River. Here, adventurous souls can test their mettle on the rocky cliffsides, while others soak in the awe-inspiring beauty of the rugged landscape.

Following a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, our journey continues to the picturesque Dades Valley, where we wind our way through the charming town of Boumalne Dades. 4th day : Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Palm Groves of Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah- High Atlas Mountains – Marrakesh

On the fourth day of your Morocco desert tour, we embark on a scenic journey through diverse landscapes, beginning in the captivating Dades Valley. As we bid farewell to this picturesque oasis, we venture onward to explore the enchanting Roses Valley, renowned for its vibrant floral displays that adorn the countryside in hues of pink and red.

Continuing our adventure, we make our way to the serene Palm Groves of Skoura, where lush greenery and towering palms create a tranquil oasis amidst the desert landscape. Here, you can take a stroll through the palm-fringed pathways and soak in the serene ambiance of this verdant paradise.

Our journey then leads us to the historic town of Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” where we visit the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah.
